A Novel Wide-Area Control Strategy for Damping of Critical Frequency Oscillations via Modulation of Active Power Injections

چکیده
This article proposes a novel wide-area control strategy for modulating the active power injections to damp critical frequency oscillations in systems, this includes inter-area and transient swing. The proposed method pursues an efficient utilization of limited reserve existing distributed energy resources (DERs) mitigate these oscillations. is accomplished by decoupling damping actions at different sites using oscillation signals concerned mode as commands. A theoretical basis decoupled provided. Technically, desired sole modal are filtered out linearly combining system-wide frequencies, which determined linear quadratic regulator based sparsity-promoting (LQRSP) technique. With strategy, modulation each injection can be effectively engineered considering response limit steady-state output capability supporting device. validated on two-area test system further demonstrated New England 39-bus system.
